Deck your Halls with Style
The holiday season brings the joy of decorating our homes into a warm, inviting space for family and friends. I wanted to combine timeless elegance with a little artistic charm: a hanging garland dressed in glass ornaments and candlelight, a table centerpiece of white anemones, and hand-painted cookies that double as edible art. Here’s how it came together.
A Hanging Garland Above the Table
Look up, and there it is — a hanging garland suspended above the table, setting the tone for the whole room. I started with a base of fresh winter greenery (pine, cedar, and eucalyptus work beautifully for their texture and fragrance), then layered in glass ornaments in varying shapes, sizes, and shades of silver and gold.
Candles added the final touch. I used candles nestled securely into the greenery — the soft glow reflecting off the glass ornaments gives the whole room a cozy, festive warmth. If you’re recreating this at home, secure the garland to the ceiling or a sturdy frame with clear fishing wire or discreet hooks and use LED candles for safety reasons.
A Centerpiece of White Anemones
For the table itself, I kept things simple: white anemones, arranged low and wide so the centerpiece stays intimate rather than overpowering. Their delicate white petals and striking black centers make them one of my favorite flowers for a holiday table — elegant without trying too hard.
A few sprigs of seasonal greenery, neutral linens, and classic dinnerware finished the look — fresh, elegant, and quietly festive.
Hand-Painted Cookies as Edible Art
No holiday table is complete without something sweet, and the hand-painted cookies and mini gold cakes from dilekerei stole the show. Each one is its own small piece of art — as much a part of the table’s decor as a gift to take home at the end of the evening.
Bringing It All Together
This kind of setup is really about layering a few timeless elements — natural greenery, a quiet flower like the anemone, and something handmade and sweet — rather than overdoing it.
