Floral Set Design for Rich & Royal — Berlin Fashion Week Installation

Large-scale dried botanical installations and set design for the Rich & Royal Fashion Week presentation in Berlin

Fashion Week asks something specific of set design — the environment has to serve the clothes without competing with them, while still creating a world that would not exist without the designer’s vision. For Rich & Royal’s Berlin Fashion Week presentation, that world was built from botanicals.

I created a series of installations ranging from intimate dried arrangements to large-scale architectural botanical pieces — all using dried and preserved plant material chosen for its sculptural quality, its muted palette, and its ability to hold form and presence. The installations set the scene for the collection without demanding attention for themselves. They were there to be felt rather than noticed.

Set design and floral installation work for fashion and editorial productions is one of the most creatively demanding contexts I work in — and one of my favorites.
